POMONA, Calif. – Before her exit from the Top Fuel division, Vietnam Veterans POW/MIA dragster driver, Melanie Troxel has been so consistent reeling off times of 4.579, 4.525, 4.553 and 4.561 seconds that you have to put her down as one of the favorites to win the 43rd annual NHRA Auto Club Finals at Pomona Raceway. Of course, Troxel thoroughly enjoys her 330-mph ride and would like nothing more than rewarding the hard work of her crew by taking them to the winner’s circle in her last Top Fuel event of a career spanning since 2000.POMONA, Calif. “Yeah, it’s a car that goes down the track every pass,” said Troxel. “I know we keep saying that, but that’s the best possible scenario you could have as a team and as a driver is a car you know that will go down the track from point A to point B. I think we can win some rounds tomorrow. We’re excited about getting out there in trying to end the season on a high note. I think that’s something obviously all the guys would enjoy to finish up our last race together with a win.”
